Don’t drink your calories… said every fitness expert in every interview I’ve ever read.
Here is a list of low calorie drinks that I like to incorporate into my everyday diet. I’m one of those people who always have a travel mug on me at all times. Even for a 10 minute trip to the store.
It might be excessive, but it’s who I am. Just a bride to be looking to quench her thirst without adding unnecessary calories. So, here’s a look into my travel mug.
Water with Lemon
The OG fave. Not much can beat it. My go to drink.
Peppermint Tea with Honey
A lovely, hydrating, refreshing warm drink. I love to have a cuppa tea at the end of the day. Peppermint aids in digestion and the honey helps to curb my sweet tooth.
Coconut Water
If you’re looking for something other than normal H20 to quench your thirst, try coconut water. It’s filled with potassium and replenishes your electrolytes. It comes in a million flavors and truly hydrates. You can almost feel it working immediately. It makes me think of Popeye. Coconut water is my spinach.
Hot Water with ACV, Lemon, and Honey
Its flu season and this stuff is amazing for helping to boost your immune system. Apple Cider Vinegar has a laundry list of benefits, lemon is high in Vitamin C, and honey is both anti-bacterial and anti-microbial. If you’re already sick, it helps to soothe a sore throat and break up a stuffy nose. Make sure to breathe in the steam. Sometimes I add ginger, cayenne, and/or turmeric for extra benefits.
Coffee with Vanilla or Caramel Almond Milk Creamer
This one is the least hydrating, but oh so satisfying. Don’t ask me to give up my caffeine. Even on cleanses, I refuse to give up my coffee. I have recently switched from cow juice creamer to almond milk creamer. They have really stepped up the almond milk creamer game. Trust me…I have tried many a watery creamer. Gross. Silk is my favorite.
What are your favorite drinks? Are you a travel mug carrier?
