Glowing Skin Green Smoothie

Full disclosure: If you’re looking for a sweet smoothie that hides that intense green flavor, this isn’t that smoothie. This smoothie tastes healthy. Its not easy being green, but its worth it.

I know I lost quite a few of you with that one, but it needed to be said.

I have been drinking this glowing skin green smoothie every morning. It makes about 4 to 6 cups and I usually drink it all morning. Just throw everything in the Vitamix and blend until smooth. Here are the ingredients I love and why they make your skin glow from the inside out.

Kale is an anti-aging, collagen protecting, retinol boosting powerhouse. Its packed with vitamins A, C, E, and K. Copper helps improve the production of melanin, a pigment that protects your skin from sun damage.

Spinach is full of antioxidants, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, and Iron. These help with anti-aging, dark circles, and hydration.

Cucumber is known to hydrate skin, lower sebum levels, and help to prevent lines and wrinkles.

Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory miracle worker. It is filled with antioxidants, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral.

Ginger is rich in antioxidants that prevent free radical damage.

Apples are high in vitamin c and copper.

Pineapple is packed with vitamin C and helps give the smoothie some fruity flavor.

Avocados are filled with healthy fats that make your skin soft and supple. When you eat your fruits and veggies with a little healthy fat, your body absorbs the vital nutrients better.

Lemon cuts the flavor a little bit while suppressing appetite. It is anti-inflammatory and immune boosting.

Water! I skip the almond milk and use good old H20 to blend this smoothie. Coconut water is another great option here if you have it on hand.

The measurements for this one are more of a guideline. I pretty much eyeball everything.

3 massive handfuls of greens

1/2 cucumber, skin removed and roughly chopped

dash of turmeric

Ginger, about an inch peeled

Apple, cored and chopped

1/3 cup pineapple

1/2 avocado

lemon, a healthy squeeze

water, I use about 1 1/2 to 2 cups (Eyeball it!)

Ice cubes, optional

Blend and serve immediately.

What is your go-to green smoothie combo?
